• instead of strings that the player sets vibrating, the botar uses sensors
• each sensor
  • lies on the fingerboard
  • is covered by a strip of rubber
  • detects where it's being pressed, and uses this to determine the pitch of the note
  • detects how hard it's being pressed, and uses this to determine how loud the note sounds

other parts of the neck

• There are no frets.
• The rest of the neck is very similar to the neck of a guitar.
