Julia's paternal great -grandfather, Ebenzeer's father, was Ira Hitchcock a native of Connecticut and a soldier in the Revolutionary War. He married Hannah Hitchkiss and they had 10 children includilng Ebeneezer. (There is a Hotchkissville Connecticut about 12 miles due east from Waterbury and a Hitchcock Lake about 9 miles north east of Waterbury.
