Notes: Born in East Berne, Albany County, N.Y. where her father Judge James Dyer sat on the bench in Albany county for many years. She attended high school in Albany and then the seminary in Mount Morrie, N.Y. Moved with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. E. Strevell to Chicago in 1862 where she lived with her aunt until Mr. Strevell returned from the war, after which they moved to Olge County, Illinois. She married Ransom Bailey on 1 January 1867. In 1877 while visiting one of her husbands farms in Iowa the forman suddenly left the farm. She decided at that time to live on the farm sending for her household goods and from then on made her home in Iowa. They moved to Cedar Falls, Iowa in 1896.
