Notes: Julia's paternal Grandfather was Ebeneezer Hitchcock who was born 23 November 1767 in Vermont. He married Abl(Abigail) Button of New Hampshire but he grew up in Vermont.

He and Abl had 10 chldren. Ebenzeer died in Ogle Co., Ill and Abl in Winnebago county.

Ebeneezer and Abl came to Winnebago Co. in 1847 to farm on land originally obtained by an older brother ten years before.

Julia's paternal great-grandfather, Ebenzeer's father, was Ira Hitchcock, a native of Connecticut and a soldier in the Revolutionary War. He married Hannah Hitchkiss and they had 10 children including Ebeneezer.

(There is a Hotchkissville Connecticut about 12 miles due east from Waterbury and a Hitchcock Lake about 9 miles north east of Waterbury.

It is possible that they family have a connection with this area).
