Notes: Grace after graduating from the Normal College in Cedar Falls taught English and Latin in the schools of Cedar Falls until she married Samuel Orwell Bailey in 1912. She was a life long friend of Bess Streeter Aldrich, author of "Lantern in her Hand," "Miss Bishop", "Rim of the Prairie" and other best selling novels in the period from 1930-50. Mother retainied the estensive letters from Bess which Julie gave to the Nebraska Historical Society and which have recently been extensively referenced in the bibliography of Bess Streeter by Martha Miles d1995.
