There are 7 different notes one octave keyboard

I'll be using the white keys of a keyboard to represent these notes.

This pattern of 7 notes repeats for the whole length of a keyboard.

Most of music can be explained using one octave of the keyboard; the seven white keys (notes 1 through 7), with the black keys used only as reference points.
