safety issues
People searching the registry for people in a particular state, province or country see only the first name (or nickname), email address, and sex of the people who have listed themselves in the registry (and who have given only the required information.)
If you are concerned about people discovering where you work or live from your email address:
- get an address at one of the free email services (www.hotmail.com, www.yahoo.com, etc.) and use it in the registry, rather than an email address that a predator might be able to use to find out where you work or live (a school or company email address, for instance, or an address given you by an internet provider that has customers in your town only)
- do not use any part of your real name in the email address you use in the registry
